OMRON Taiyo/Taiyo no ie

Taiyo no ie, a social welfare organization, set up training facilities in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Aichi Prefecture, and Kyoto for the purpose of integrating people with disabilities into society.

Through an alliance with Taiyo no ie, OMRON established Japan's first factory designed for workers with various physical handicaps, OMRON Taiyo Co., Ltd., in Beppu, Oita Prefecture in 1972. This was followed by the establishment of OMRON Kyoto Taiyo Co., Ltd. in Kyoto in 1986.

"No one is so disabled as to be unable to work at all. The people who work here are not patients but employees, and their sponsors are our investors." This is the philosophy upon which Dr. Yutaka Nakamura established Taiyo no ie. He was joined by OMRON founder Kazuma Tateisi, who introduced the motto "At work for a better life, a better world for all" as an embodiment of his credo that companies as a public servant contributing to society through its business activities.

This revolutionary thinking and the sympathetic resonance from the philosophies of these two individuals, with cooperation from welfare organizations, people with disabilities and private companies, lead to the creation of OMRON Taiyo and OMRON Kyoto Taiyo.

Structure

太陽の家は、大分県別府市と愛知県、京都府にある身体障害者が 社会復帰をするための訓練施設です。オムロンでは「太陽の家」の活動趣旨に賛同し、資金を寄付するとともに、「太陽の家」との合弁により、わが国初の福祉 工場として障害者雇用を果たした特例子会社　オムロン太陽株式会社（1972年　大分県別府市）、オムロン京都太陽株式会社（1986年　京都府）を設立 しました

 

革新的な考えを持つ、この二人の理念の共鳴によって誕生

「世に心身障害者（児）はあっても仕事に障害はあり得ない。太陽の家に働く者は被護者ではなく労働者であり、 後援者は投資家である。」という中村裕医学博士の理念のもとに開所した社会福祉法人「太陽の家」。そして「われわれの生活を向上し、よりよい社会をつくり ましょう」と事業や経営を通じて社会に貢献していく姿勢-企業の公器性-を社憲にまとめた、オムロン株式会社の立石一真創業者。
革新的な考えを持つ、この二人の理念の共鳴によって、1972年（昭和47年）、福祉施設・身障者・民間企業の協力による、わが国初の福祉工場として「オムロン太陽株式会社」が、1986年（昭和61年）に「オムロン京都太陽株式会社」が誕生しました。
